Weight loss treatment: Your path to a healthier you
Losing weight isn’t just about appearance - it’s about improving your overall health and well-being. Maintaining a healthy weight can lower the risk of chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and joint pain.
At Midway Pharmacy, we provide clinically proven weight loss treatments, including Wegovy (Semaglutide) and Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), to help patients achieve sustainable weight loss. Our GPhC-registered prescribers offer a safe and effective pharmacy-led weight loss service, ensuring every treatment plan is tailored to your needs.
Why losing weight matters
Being overweight or obese can have serious health implications, including:
Increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and high cholesterol
Greater likelihood of joint pain, mobility issues, and arthritis
Higher chance of developing type 2 diabetes
Increased risk of mental health challenges, including low self-esteem and depression
Losing even 5-10% of your body weight can significantly improve health markers, helping you feel more energetic, confident, and in control of your well-being.
Weight loss treatment options: Wegovy & Mounjaro
With the rising prevalence of obesity, medical weight loss treatments have become a trusted option for individuals struggling to lose weight through diet and exercise alone.
At Midway Pharmacy, we offer prescription weight loss injections that have been clinically proven to help patients lose significant weight when combined with lifestyle changes.
What Weight Loss Treatments Do We Offer?
We currently prescribe the following GLP-1 weight-loss medications:
Wegovy (Semaglutide) – A GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps control appetite, slow digestion, and reduce food cravings. Patients can lose up to 15% of their body weight with Wegovy.
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) – A dual-acting GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist which enhances weight loss results. Studies show patients can lose up to 22.5% of their body weight, making it one of the most effective weight loss injections available.
Both medications are self-administered, once-weekly injections designed for long-term weight management.

How this service works
Select your preferred service option and book an appointment.
Before your consultation, you must provide an independently verified BMI measurement. This can be done in one of the following ways:
For local patients: Visit a Midway Pharmacy branch for a free BMI check.
For non-local patients: Obtain a verified BMI reading from your GP, another pharmacy, or a registered healthcare professional.
The BMI verification must be emailed directly from a pharmacy or GP-specific email address (e.g., nhs.net) to the email address provided in your booking confirmation.
Follow the link in your booking confirmation email to complete the patient questionnaire at least 12 hours before your appointment.
One of our prescribers will review your completed questionnaire and BMI verification and contact you to discuss your options.
If this is your first time receiving treatment with us, we will conduct a video consultation via a secure video link (sent separately).
During the consultation, you and our prescriber will decide on the most suitable treatment option for you. We will generate a prescription and send it to your local Midway Pharmacy if appropriate.
After you start any treatment we prescribe, we’ll check in to see how you’re getting on.
