About weight loss
Weight loss is not only about shedding pounds; it’s a comprehensive journey toward better health and well-being. While the aesthetic aspect is often emphasised, the primary focus should be improving overall health.
It’s essential to recognise that each person’s weight loss journey is unique, and success is measured not just by the number on the scale but by the positive impact on health markers such as blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and overall vitality. A holistic approach, encompassing both physical and mental well-being, ensures that weight loss efforts contribute to a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Being overweight can have significant implications for both physical and mental health. Excess weight is often associated with an increased risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. The strain on joints can lead to mobility issues, while the psychological impact may include lower self-esteem and increased risk of mental health challenges. Additionally, being overweight can affect sleep patterns and overall quality of life.
Acknowledging and addressing excess weight is vital to preventing and managing associated health risks. Seeking professional guidance and adopting a holistic approach that combines healthy eating, regular exercise, and emotional well-being is crucial for those navigating the complexities of being overweight, promoting weight loss and overall health and life satisfaction.
Available treatment options
The prevalence of obesity has been steadily rising, posing significant challenges to public health, and weight loss treatment has become a crucial aspect of healthcare, with numerous options available to individuals seeking a healthier weight. Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight involves a multifaceted approach, often requiring a combination of lifestyle changes, professional guidance, and, in some cases, medical interventions.
Choosing the most suitable treatment option depends on various factors, including health status, BMI, and lifestyle preferences. Individuals must consult with healthcare professionals to determine the most effective and safe approach to weight loss.
Combining multiple treatment modalities, such as lifestyle modifications, alongside behavioural therapy can often yield the best results. Regular monitoring and adjustments to the treatment plan may be necessary to ensure long-term success in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
At Midway Pharmacy, we can prescribe medicine such as Wegovy and Saxenda to help you achieve your weight loss goals and lose the extra weight, provided it's suitable for you. You can get prescription weight loss treatments in a tablet or an injectable pen.

Offered me a blood pressure check which I happily accepted. Attended on the same day. Asked if it were possible to pay for a flu jab (I’m not eligible yet) and got that at the same time! Excellent!! Very polite and helpful.

I booked the ear syringing service at Midway Pharmacy in Morley through the online booking system. Really friendly and professional service from Sharon.
